Ticino Musica Festival

Ticino Musica is an international festival where musicians from all over the world meet. Great masters and young talents create a training and artistic experience that also benefits the audience, through high-quality classical music concerts.
The festival was founded in 1979 and has been hosted in Italian-speaking Switzerland since 1997, where it continues to be very successful.

Rebranding

The goal was to create a more contemporary image for the festival, starting with the logo—while still communicating its historical values.
The festival is defined by the “art” pole (Music) and the “territory” pole (Ticino). The logo therefore had to express the festival’s role as a link between music and territory.
Fonts and colours were chosen to retain a reference to the event’s history and tradition. The word “festival” is proposed upside down, becoming a kind of trait d’union between “Ticino” and “Musica”: a logo that adds an innovative tone of voice to the traditional one.
A logo to associate with a brand that stands for continuity and institutional presence, but also for research—experimenting and looking from different perspectives.

Coordinated identity

The rebranding also led to the creation of leaflets, brochures, flyers, posters and other printed materials reflecting the festival’s new image: attention to essentials, yet communicating constant research. Aesthetic pleasure paired with the pleasure of being together to share experiences and emotions.

Website

Ticino Musica has special characteristics: concert activity intertwines with educational activity. A dynamic website was therefore created to make the festival’s different “souls” immediately visible, starting with the distinction between Festival and Academy. Now Ticino Musica’s multifaceted nature is immediately clear. Reorganising the content map made categories easier to find and browse.
The homepage also displays a news section that immediately provides the latest updates on shows and registrations. The design prioritises images and short text highlights as an intuitive guide to the sections. The site also includes an e-commerce shop integrated into the events section for ticket sales, and another shop dedicated to course management and sales.
