Sustainable construction
Lo Scudo di Stabio is a new-concept building, the first in Ticino designed to obtain the Swiss Sustainable Building Standard (SNBS). It offers short- and medium-term rentals aimed mainly at professionals and employees working with companies in the Mendrisiotto area. An innovative solution, enhanced by design elements and enriched with guest services — always in the name of sustainability.
Stakeholder analysis and outreach
From the start, the project analysed stakeholder expectations, interest groups and the socio-economic context.
For Lo Scudo di Stabio we conducted a survey among HR managers of Mendrisiotto companies to understand business needs for short-term rentals and establish first contact with potential clients.
Branding
The sustainable and ecological approach was communicated by linking the theme of territory and memory of places (the logo references a detail of the most important Lombard artefact found in the area) with visions of the future, using graphics that echo the building’s essential lines: a space in progress, like the sustainable building itself.
Branding for “green” bags, t-shirts and pencils communicates the choice to make sustainability part of everyday life.
Website
The web strategy had two phases:
-
a presentation site to communicate the innovative concept and the construction work-in-progress;
-
an Umbraco CMS site launched for the building’s inauguration, enabling direct booking and selection of extra services to purchase.
The site also includes a journal section dedicated to sustainability and discovering the territory.
Inaugural event
Stakeholders contacted in the initial phase were then invited to the inauguration. A press conference was also organised with local media, attended by the promoter, designer and certifying body. Collaboration with LAGO’s press office (furnishings) helped distribute a press release beyond Ticino.
Digital marketing
Given the target of professionals who need accommodation for work for weeks or months, we initially activated digital campaigns on social channels, profiling the potential audience within the German-speaking Swiss professional market.
A newsletter is also planned to build a community around the same vision: Living green, staying flexible.
