mcr Family Real Estate is a real-estate company active in the rental market, owning properties in Ticino (Cadenazzo, Robasacco, Bellinzona) and in Portugal (Douro region). Its distinctive feature is that it is run by a husband-and-wife team.
The husband is architect Christian Rivola, who focuses on reactivating and transforming existing residences by identifying and developing their untapped potential. This is why the relationship with the environment and the history of places is central to mcr’s vision—so much so that the company also dedicates itself to a line of typical local products made from the fruits of its own land.

Approach

mcr wanted a website able to convey the added value of living in houses or apartments with a transformation story rooted in the territory and its defining elements. We therefore developed storytelling capable of communicating the soul of each residence, starting from the creation of the payoff: “stories to inhabit”.
The idea is to communicate that living in an mcr home means not only enjoying comfortable walls, but also being part of a story, a territory, and a sensitivity toward sustainable development.

Features

The minimal design is meant to give greater emphasis to the narrative content, which represents the site’s innovative uniqueness.
For each of the eight houses featured, alongside technical specifications, there is a story about the building’s history and transformation, its inhabitants and the territory. A kind of novel, divided into chapters and narrated in the first person, as if the house were writing its own autobiography.
This approach allows many details—enriched with period photos—to communicate mcr’s vision in a way that creates empathy and attention in the reader.
The storytelling and the rich iconography make the website an immersion into the mcr universe: you come away aware of the coherence of mcr’s vision, its bond with the territory and its desire to innovate and help the community grow. A real-estate company that doesn’t only do business, but also generates social value.

Technology

The site is structured to be easily expanded with multimedia content (renderings, emotional videos, audio stories), making each residence’s story richer and more participatory—especially for the houses still under renovation, where new chapters will be added over time.
